Portfolio / Case study

Our own website and booking system, built the way we build for clients.

We needed a site that explains what we do and lets the right visitor book a conversation without email back-and-forth. We built both in-house, so this is a process we can show you end to end.

The goal

A site that explains, and a calendar that books itself.

Visitors should understand what SA Coder does within a few seconds, trust what they see and be able to book a time in the same visit. For our team, every booking should arrive with enough context to prepare, and should never clash with another call.

01

Scheduling by email is slow

Proposing times back and forth costs days, and time zones make it easy to get wrong.

02

Double bookings must not happen

Two visitors choosing the same slot at the same moment had to be handled by the system, not left to luck.

03

Context before the call

Each request needed the visitor goal and, optionally, company, website and budget range, so the first call starts with substance.

What we built

Six pieces, one working system.

01

A custom site theme

A WordPress block theme with its own templates for home, services, about, portfolio, contact, legal and system pages, plus restrained scroll animation.

02

Booking on one page

Visitors choose a call type, pick an open time and send their details without leaving the page. There are three call types: a 15 minute intro, a 30 minute strategy call and a 60 minute deep dive.

03

Availability rules

Working days and hours, slot length, buffer between calls, minimum notice and how far ahead people can book are all settings, not code changes.

04

Clash protection

Open times are calculated from existing bookings plus a buffer, and the final check runs inside a lock, so two people cannot take the same slot.

05

Emails, calendar files and reminders

Visitors get a request received email, then a confirmation with a calendar invite, a Google Calendar button and a meeting link. Confirmed calls get reminders about 24 hours and 1 hour before.

06

Admin tools and spam protection

A booking list with four statuses (pending, confirmed, completed, cancelled) and a settings screen. Forms use a hidden honeypot field and rate limiting, and the thank-you page is kept out of search results.

How a booking works

From first click to confirmed call.

  1. 01

    Choose a call type

Quick intro, strategy call or deep dive, each with its own length.

  2. 02

    Pick an open time

Only times that fit the rules and do not clash with another call are shown.

  3. 03

    Send details

Name, email and a short message are required. Company, website, service and budget are optional.

  4. 04

    Confirm and prepare

The request arrives as pending. Once confirmed, the visitor receives the invite and meeting link, then reminders before the call.

What is live

What this project delivers today.

  • A multi-page site covering services, about, portfolio, contact, booking and legal pages
  • Five detailed service pages, each with its own search title, description and schema
  • Three call types with configurable availability rules
  • Protection against double bookings and basic form spam
  • Request, confirmation, cancellation and reminder emails, with calendar files
  • A light admin for managing booking status and settings

Measured results

We are collecting booking and enquiry data. Figures will be published here once there is enough real traffic to report them honestly.
